IN HIS HANDS

Everyone worries, everyone stresses. They get scared, and they seem to forget the more important thing, We are in God's hands!! Simple as that.
I'm telling you my brothers and sisters that if we are in God's hands then everything will be taken care of. Have faith and trust in the Lord always.

H.H. Pope Shenouda

Pure Intention

God bestows more consideration on the purity of the intention
with which our actions are performed than
on the actions themselves.

No Ordinary Mother

We don't look upon St. Mary as just a great saint, but as a mother,
and not just an ordinary mother
but capable mother full of mercy and support.

The Greatest of Miracles

The man who is conscious of his sins is greater than he who profits the whole world by the sight of his countenance. The man who sighs over his soul for but one hour is greater than he who raises the dead by his prayer while dwelling amid many men. The man who is deemed worthy to see himself is greater than he who is deemed worthy to see the angels, for the latter has communion through his bodily eyes, but the former through the eyes of his soul. The man who follows Christ in secret mourning is greater than he who praises Christ amid the congregations of men.

St. Isaac the Syrian

Fasting

One should not think
about the doings of God when one’s stomach is full;
on a full stomach there can be no vision
of the Divine mysteries.

Honesty

Struggle to be honest in your work and look out for the tricks of the enemy of good. Be obedient and submissive to your Magistrates even if they have impolite manner. Keep hold of humility because the one who humbles himself will be exalted and loved by both God and people.

Pope Saint (St. Abba Cyril VI) Kyrillos VI
116th Pope of Alexandria

Palm Sunday

Orthodox Christians celebrate Palm Sunday, when Christ was received in Jerusalem with olive branches and palm tree leaves.

On that day Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and his fame as a teacher has astonished many people, as well as his miracles and healing of the sick, resuscitating the dead and casting out devils, doing what no one has done before.

Moreover, being known as a huge public leader had gathered around him many hearts with love and admiration.

Pure Heart

I prayed for a pure heart, it took me a long time and a hard struggle to discover that prayer itself is the only road to a pure heart.

Help

Help those who are weak with a word of comfort, that you may find grace before the Lover of Mankind.

Temptations And Trails

Just as the Lord is solicitous about our salvation, so too the murder of men, the devil, strives to lead a man into despair.

A lofty and sound soul does not despair over misfortunes, of whatever sort they may be. Our life is as it were a house of temptations and trials; but we will not renounce the Lord for as long as He allows the tempter to remain with us and for as long as we must wait to be revived through patience and secure passionless!

Judas the betrayer was fainthearted and unskilled in battle, and so the enemy, seeing his despair, attacked him and forced him to hang himself, but Peter, a firm rock, when he fell into great sin, like one skilled in battle did not despair nor lose heart, but shed bitter tears from a burning heart, and the enemy, seeing these tears, his eyes scorched as by fire, fled far form him wailing in pain.

And so brothers, St. Antioch teaches, when despair attacks us let us not yield to it, but being strengthened and protected by the light of faith, with great courage let us say to the evil spirit: “What are you to us, estranged from God, a fugitive from heaven and evil servant? You dare do nothing to us. Christ, the Son of God, has authority both over us and over everything. It is against Him that we have sinned, and before Him that we will be justified. And you, destroyer, leave us. Strengthen by His venerable Cross, we trample under foot your serpent’s head.”

Seraphim Of Sarvo

Hope In God

The soul that loves God has its rest in God and in God alone.
In all the paths that men walk in in the world,
they do not attain peace until they
draw nigh to hope in God.

Children of God

The children of God must be strong on their principles, firm, steadfast and would not hesitate before their villain's attacks.

Struggling With Temptation

It happened that Abba Moses the black was struggling with the temptation of fornication. Unable to stay any long in the cell, he went and told Abba Isidore. Abba Isidore exhorted him to return to his cell. But he refused, saying, "Abba, I cannot."

Then Abba Isidore took Moses out onto the terrace and said to him, "Look towards the west." He looked and saw hordes of demons flying about and making a noise before launching an attack. Then Abba Isidore said to him, "Look towards the east." He turned and saw an innumerable multitude of holy angels shining with glory.

Abba Isidore said, "See, these are sent by the Lord to the saints to bring them help, while those in the west fight against them. Those who are with us are more in number than they are."

Then Abba Moses gave thanks to God, plucked up his courage, and returned to his cell.

God living in man

Grace is an awesome energy that lifts the soul above the harassment of the flesh, the temptations of the world and the insinuations of the enemy. Very simply, it is God living in man

Year Coming

When you see the year coming to completion, give thanks to the Lord that he brought you to this period of years. Put your heart at rest, count up the time of your life, say to yourself: The days move quickly and pass by, the years come to an end, we have already traversed much of the road— but what noble thing have we done? We will not go from here empty and lacking all righteousness. The judgment is at the doors. Life presses on and on toward our old age.

St. John Chrysostom

Make it a Blessed Year

Lord, make it a blessed year. A pure year to please You. A year in which Your Spirit prevails and joins in working with You. Hold our hands and guide our thoughts from the beginning of the year till its end. Let this year be Yours, to please You. It is a New Year, spotless; let us not tarnish it with our sins or impurities.

H.H. Pope Shenouda III

Tears from Heart

God is the most easy Person you can negotiate with. One tear from you is enough to dissolve all His threats and punishments, if your tears are true and from the depth of your heart

Pope Shenouda III
